Arakurayama-Sengen Park, Yamanashi
Fujiyoshida City in Yamanashi Prefecture is the gateway area to the northern side of Mt. Fuji, located at an altitude of about 650 meters to 850 meters at the foot of Mount Fuji. The towering up “reiho” (lit. sacred peak) can be seen from anywhere in town. “Arakurayama Sengen park”, the view spot of Mt. Fuji, boasting the best in the Fuji Five Lakes area, attracts visitors from home and abroad with its spectacular scenery. Especially in the spring, it is very popular as a spot where you can put the Japanese symbolic scenery of cherry blossoms, Mt. Fuji, five-storied tower in one picture.
The Arakurayama-Sengen Park is one of view spot in Fujiyoshida-city of Yamanashi, and because you can enjoy the five-storeyed pagoda in the hill of the park and Mt. Fuji at the same time, it is the popular spot that there is featured by the TV programs several times.
The scenery from this park was on the cover of famous guidebook “Michelin green guide Japan”, and the super famous spot that has appeared in not only the guidebook but also the textbook in Thailand.
It is rare place where you can enjoy Japanese-style superb view such as “Mt. Fuji” “cherry tree”, and “five-storeyed pagoda”. There is not readily the spot where things on behalf of Japan gathered.
You can see cityscape of Fujiyoshida-city easily with huge Mount Fuji soaring to the sky in front. Many tourists come from outside of the prefecture as a sacred place of shooting spot of the Mount Fuji. After Mount Fuji was registered as a cultural site of world heritage, a lot of tourists from the foreign country come here, too.
When you go up about 400 steps of stairs to the park through the front approach to the Sengen Shrine, the field of vision widely open to the outside. A cherry tree blooms in profusion on both sides of an approach to the shrine and stairs in spring, it becomes the popular cherry-blossom viewing spot.
