“Koganezaki Furoufushi-Onsen (Hot Springs for Eternal youth and immortality)” is a hot spring located on the west coast of Aomori Prefecture overlooking the Sea of Japan. Fukaura Town, where Koganezaki is located, has been selected as one of the “100 Best Evening Scenes in Japan”, and an open-air bath where you can enjoy the scenery of the sea dyed by the sunset is very popular. Many tourists visit even on weekdays for this spectacular “seaside open-air bath”. The area around Furoufushi-Onsen is abundant with tourist spots including the Shirakami Mountains, a World Natural Heritage site. It is a hot spring that you want to visit once even if you are not a mania for sightseeing in Shirakami Mountains and train trips at “Resort Shirakami”.
The main attraction of “Koganezaki Furoufushi-Onsen” is the open-air bath on the seaside that is full of openness. If you immerse yourself in a gourd-shaped bath set up on a rocky beach, the lush sea spreads as close as you can reach.
Don’t miss the signboard near the main building. This is a great spot where you can take pictures of the scenery that symbolizes “Koganezaki Furoufushi-Onsen”. Let’s leave memories of your trip against the backdrop of the seaside open-air bath and the Sea of Japan.
The hot spring that you enter while receiving the sound of the waves as background music and the sea breeze on your cheek is a blissful moment. It is also a popular secret that you can watch the sunset over the horizon on a clear day.
Furoufushi-Onsen has a reputation for good spring quality. The characteristic golden hot water is iron-containing sodium-magnesium-chloride strong salt spring, warming the body from the core and expecting skin beautifying effect.
For day-trip bathing, you can use the indoor and outdoor hot springs in addition to the beachside outdoor bath. Since there is no washing place in the beachside open-air bath, wash your body with the main building’s indoor bath, wear clothes, and go to the outdoor bath through the outdoor passage.
The open-air bath nestled on the beaches of the desolate coast is full of travel. The beachside open-air bath is open from 8:00 am, so it is recommended to enjoy the hot spring in the fresh air of the morning. While taking a break at the salon, it is a good idea to enjoy the spectacular view from the open-air bath as many times as possible until 4pm in the evening.
The biggest merit of staying is that the open-air bath on the beach can be used from sunrise to sunset. You don’t have to worry about time, so you can enjoy the sunset view slowly until the sun falls. It is a masterpiece that the sunset dyes the sky in red and eventually turns one side into a golden color. The voice of admiration rises to the beauty that is divine.
The hot water in the open-air bath at the seaside is slightly warm, perfect for relaxing. If you are immersed in an open-air outdoor bath that is integrated with the sea, your body and mind will be healed and you will forget your time. Let’s enjoy the scenery that changes from the blue of the sky and the sea to the orange of the sunset.
