The Nagoya City Science Museum is the comprehensive science museum built by commemorating the 70th anniversary of municipal government in Shirakawa Park in Nagoya. It consists of three buildings, the “astronomical hall”, the “science-and-engineering hall”, and the “life hall”, and the science phenomenon of a nature is introduced generally. It features the theme “see, touch and confirm”, and experiment / demonstration show are planned several times per day. The popular planetarium “BrotherEarth” changes a theme every month, and explains up to the special contents, such as a stellar myth and the black hole, intelligibly with the newest image and sound.
This is just the world’s largest planetarium dome “BrotherEarth” with the Guinness record. The image of the planetarium seen in a huge dome 35 meters in inside diameter is very skillful. Of course, seeing from outside is also a building of the highlight.
“BrotherEarth” in which state-of-the-art technology was filled tightly is said to reproduce the starlit sky near a genuine, and is the center of attention. The wonder of the universe is explained not to mention a stellar myth, the astronomical phenomenon of the month, expansion of the universe, a black hole, etc. making full use of CG, the newest visual equipment, etc. which the curator himself made.
It is full of the highlight including “the severe cold laboratory” which can experience the world of -30 degrees, “the tornado laboratory” which can experience an artificial tornado of 9 meters in height, and “the electric discharge laboratory” which performs the electric discharge experiment show that intensity of the electric energy can realize.
