“The Osamu Tezuka Manga Museum” is located in Takarazuka City, Hyogo Prefecture. Osamu Tezuka is known as a cartoonist who has worked on hits such as “Astro Boy”, “Black Jack”, “Jungle Emperor Leo”, “Princess Knight” one after another. Especially, it is famous in Japan that the first TV anime series in Japan is “Astro Boy”. In this way, Osamu Tezuka had a great influence on Japanese TV animation production leading to the present age. Such Osamu Tezuka was spending about 20 years from 5 years old to 24 years old in Takarazuka City, Hyogo Prefecture. And in honor of the great achievement of Osamu Tezuka, “The Osamu Tezuka Manga Museum” (“Takarazuka Municipal Tezuka Osamu Memorial Museum”) was established in 1994, five years after his death.
“The Osamu Tezuka Manga Museum” is a memorial museum with the theme of “love for nature and the preciousness of life” with the aim of broadly posting the accomplishments of Osamu Tezuka, a world-famous cartoonist, to posterity. Here you can see and feel the world of Tezuka Osamu, such as the Hi-Vision Theater showing original animation, the library that can read manga works of Osamu Tezuka, and the workshop where you can experience animation production.

There is the permanent exhibitions of the document about Osamu Tezuka, and “the Atom vision picture hall” showing an original animated cartoon on the first floor. The glasscase, which formed a line in the permanent exhibitions room in a row, was made in the image of the life-support equipment which appeared in “Hinotori Mirai Hen” (Phoenix – Future Edition).
Observation sketching or the graffiti before his debut as a comic artist are displayed. Records of the insect-collecting of the time that he spent in Takarazuka-shi are left. You can identify traces of the talent of the picture and enthusiastic more than others since he was young from the observation sketching of the insect.
