Toyota Commemorative Museum of Industry and Technology, Aichi
The Toyota Commemorative Museum of Industry and Technology is a company museum of Toyota which tells the history from Meiji period.
The Toyota group which accomplishes remarkable evolution from textile machine industry to the auto industry, and tows the world’s auto industry now. The origin dates back to the old Toyoda Spinning & Weaving headquarters factory founded in 1911. It is the Toyota Commemorative Museum of Industry and Technology which was opened to this land that is the birthplace of Toyota in the world.
Large space of the inside of the hall is divided into three themes as the “techno land”, the “automobile hall”, the “textile machine hall”. It is reasonable admission and is the museum which you can learn while playing happily all day.
“The techno land” with the playground equipment related to a fiber machine and a car is fairly prosperous of children.
Craftsmanship can be felt with a powerful showpiece, it is full of an “automobile hall” and a “textile machine hall”, so not only children but also adults can enjoy fresh surprise at them.
The techno land has 12 attractions in total.
The most popular “techno circuit” is to run the course projected on the floor and can experience the operation of the car. The “Weaving Machine” which can observe the operation by which cloth is woven by stepping on a pedal and rotating the machine, and “Water Jet Shoot” which aims at the target using the water which blew off like a water pistol, is the popular game. There may be a room which can experience the air resistance by a wind, and it may become the cause of taking an interest in science.
In the exhibit space of “textile machine hall” using the pillar, the beam and the wall of the red brick at the time of the Taisho era, approximately 90 fiber machines are displayed from a tool at the time of the establishment of a business to a modern device.
An operator demonstrates and explains the activity which spins thread or weaves cloth before your eyes.
The “automobile hall” is a vast exhibition hall of 7,900 square meters. Inside a hall, basing-on real machine dynamic state exhibition, demonstration by an operator, etc. are seen.
It is highly appreciated by the overseas visitor at the contents which all the cars can understand that it is “All the craftsmanship of Toyota is understood”.
The kids corner and child library which can be enjoyed while feeling the principle of craftsmanship are also added to the automobile hall. Small children can also enjoy themself.
