The area called “Nada Gogo” (five sake-brewing district in Nada) spanning Kobe City and Nishinomiya City is the largest sake-producing area in Japan, where many brewery stores gather. Many sake breweries that can visit and taste, and everyone can enjoy knowing the splendor of sake and its history.
Nada area in Hyogo Prefecture is a famous place of sake that everyone knows. Not only the sake brewery based in this area, but also the manufacturers in other areas have a brewery in Nada. Nada is a sake-producing area boasting the largest amount of sake produced in Japan. There is a reason why the Nada developed as a sake-producing area. The fact that rice best suited for brewing called Yamadanishiki is rich in quality, good quality mineral water is abundant, that the cold “Rokko Oroshi” (the seasonal cold wind) is suitable for sake brewing, and the port suitable for transportation is close. Thanks to these favorable conditions, Nada has developed as a sake-producing area since the middle Edo period. As “Nada’s Sake for Male” traditionally sake in Nada is famous for its dryness, this is because the hardness of water called “Miyamizu” which is used for sake brewing is relatively high. This means “Imazu area”, “Nishinomiya area”, “Uozaki area”, “Mikage area”, “Nishi erea” which divided the Nada’s brewery area into five further. It is Mikage area that is suitable for sightseeing and alcohol watching tour in Nada Gogo. Access from Hanshin Railway’s Sumiyoshi Station and Uonzaki Station is also good, there are large sake brewery easy to observe, many souvenir sales and tasting are also substantial. Many brewers damaged during Great Hanshin Earthquake about twenty years ago, Nada Gogo cooperates and works hard and takes over the tradition of Japan.

Introducing access to “Nada no Sakagura” (Sake Brewery). If you come by train, take the Japan Railway Tokaido / Sanyo Shinkansen and get off at Shin-Kobe Station. From there, take the Kobe Municipal Subway, change to the Hanshin Electric Railway Main Line at Sannomiya Station, and arrive at your destination in about 10 minutes on foot from Ishiyagawa Station and Uozaki Station.
